Aktion børnehjælp
Aktion børnehjælp

Aktion Børnehjœlp has provided aid to tens of thousands of impoverished children inslums and rural areas of India since its establishment in1965. The NGO is involved in numerous worthy projects and works collaboration with local organisations.

Between a rock and a hard place
In India, there is a prevailing belief that widows bring bad luck. This makes it very difficult for many unfortunate women in these circumstances to find employment, especially for those who live in very poor areas. As a result, their prospects for survival - and that of their children - are very slim.

A better life ahead
This year, the Lauritzen Foundation proposes to continue to support a particular Aktion Børnehjœlp programme that focuses on providing help and schooling for the children of these widows. The project costs DKK 120,000 per year, but in previous years the Foundation has given almost twice this amount to coverthe charity’s expenses and aid them in their formidable work.
